Trollgirl

I started drawing my memories and while I was doing page after page I realized that this is a story that I probably share with many people.
So that is what Trollgirl is, my story, in pictures growing up with undiagnosed ADHD and social anxiety. It is a three part book series that together tells of challenges and beauty seen through Trollgirls eyes.
My inspiration for writing Trollgirl was thinking about my own start in life. There are many stories out there about kids starting school. The brave kids, the bullies. The kids who find confidence and become little stars with their peers. But then there is the ones who sort of watch from the sidelines, the ones who struggle with anxiety and strong feelings all the time. The ones who are so unnoticed they fall through the cracks. This is a story about one of those kids. She is different but she loves it, and hates it.

Trollgirl part 1.
We all come from somewhere, be it the suburban city, the coast or a farm up amongst the mountains.
What is your first memory? How did you feel? What was it like meeting new people? Was it easy? What if you can´t remember anyone around you? Only a huge forest and everything on the outside is scary big. Family was there, but you can`t remember them, being, there. Lonely... And then to top it off you are "weird", kids look sideways at you because they can´t place you, so you become the outsider for no other reason than you being to shy and too weird to include.
"From the forest comes a little Trollgirl, not yet molded by the humans."

Trollgirl part 2. Blooming
Trollgirl and her family moved to a new place with a new school. She started to find herself. Her mom gave her a dog of her own to love and take care of. One of the magical memories she makes is her family and her going mushroom hunting amongst the damp, mossy og trees!

Trollgirl part 3. The weed
"There are no such thing as weeds."
- My biology teacher
There are no plants without a purpose. So I guess Trollgirl was a dandelion!?
She moved again, new house and new school. But this time it was better? She had so many magical moments that blurred the space between fantasy and reality. It could be hard to spot the difference sometimes.
Her family piled in the van and went to visit her aunt and uncle in a hotel in the mountains and they had horses!!
