Garage mural
A blank canvas needed to be filled. A window into another world as painted by Theodor Kittelsen. This is my recreation of the piece "Soria Moria castle" It looks especially beautiful and moody in the evening light.

Chicken coop
In my need to surround myself with things that remind me of my home of origin, Norway, I decided to make a "Stabbur". Stabbur are all over Norway on old farms. They were used to store food and other things. They are all treated with a specific pine tar stain that makes the wood look almost black, but makes the wood last a really long time, and its smells amazing when the sun warms it... It smells like home.
I wanted to be as cost free as possible and used supplies I found for free. The old barnwood and the stain was the biggest costs with about 70$ for the stain and around a 100$ for the wood, which was still very cheap for wood! It´s all about knowing where to source.
I applied to have urban backyard chickens, and went through meticulous measuring and planning. Here is the result. I have yet to build the run and actually place chickens in it. I will update this when I do. But for now, I have my stabbur, my little piece of Norway.

-The medieval arms on the chest lid were a commissioned piece i did.
-The bird house and the table were apart of me wanting to decorate everything with Norwegian Rosemaling.

Little Free Library
Every since I saw the first little free library, I've wanted to make one for us. One day I found a discarded piece of plywood and carried it home. Using that, free paint from the eco station and leftover pieces of barnwood, I got a little free Library! Also with Norwegian Rosemaling on it. Off course.

Mud kitchen
As a mom of three I've been collecting ideas for creative play for over 14 years.
Pinterest is my friend. Here I used free pallets, leftover paint and random hardware I saved from other things. I save everything that may have a use someday.
